.**Role Summary**:**Role Summary** : The position will report directly to VP, Assistant General Counsel based in the USA and will have extensive contact with senior leaders in the Latin America (LAM) region as well as with a variety of business stakeholders across the Company. A large part of this role will involve the project management of cases - this will entail controlling external legal spend, and ensuring that local experts are fully briefed and utilized. The new addition will need to maintain strict confidence and discretion, and a friendly and professional demeanor in all aspects of work duties. Based in Mexico or other Flowserve offices in the LAM region, the Employment Counsel will be responsible for all employment law matters across the LAM region**Responsibilities & Requirements**:Job Responsibilities**:- Provide legal support to the company's LAM locations by performing a broad range of attorney functions relating to employment law, labor relations, employee benefits, conflict management and avoidance, investigations, litigation and policies and procedures, as well as data privacy.- Provide strategic legal counsel on a wide array of LAM employment matters, including employee relations, recruiting, hiring, discipline, termination, accommodation, redundancies, realignment activity, leaves of absence, litigation and conflict management / avoidance, data privacy, government and internal investigations, wage and hour matters, collective bargaining and labour matters, policies, procedures and templates, matter management and special projects.- Prepare, draft, investigate and research presentations, documents, agreements, memos, summaries, policies and procedures, templates, incentive or benefits plans, employment agreements, contracts, responses to charges of discrimination, and other documents, requiring knowledge of legal terminology and document formats.- Monitor legal and regulatory requirements and developments in data protection legislation to ensure compliance.**Requirements**:- Qualified Latin American lawyer in at least one country in the LAM region, with specific specialization in employment law.- Prior experience with the cultures and operations in LAM.- Strong knowledge of employment matters, including: hiring, benefits, employee relations, discipline, terminations, internal investigations, wage and hour, leave and accommodation issues, independent contractors and more. Gained working in-house.- Knowledge of global employment matters preferable, but not mandatory
