Provide the business with insight to ensure local statutory obligations are being fulfilled and contribute to the design and implementation of processes and systems to meet those obligations.- Maintain a constant flow of information with his/her supervisor to establish a communication in agreement with the company needs to achieve uniformity in decision making for both his/her responsibilities as well as company policies.- Oversee the process of maquiladora transactions, manage compliance, and assess best practices for reporting, documentation, and recordkeeping.- Research and monitor local laws, regulations, procedures, and applicable benefits related to maquila transactions; prepares summaries of new regulations for review by team members.- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, including, but not limited to, DIOT, electronic accounting records, and chart of accounts submissions.- Perform VAT favorable collection from tax authorities and prepare supporting documentation.- Follow up, in a timely manner, on all notifications from the tax authorities (SAT).- Collaborate with trade compliance team to assist with import/export asset declarations as necessary.- Document standard processes for all statutory filing requirements.- Prepare periodic statutory filings, coordinating with external firms when necessary, such as the annual return- Collaborate with central accounting team to advise and assist with recording of maquila transactions, month end close, and financial statement preparation.- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining detailed balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.- Monitor, review, and propose improvements for accuracy and completeness to the established accounting system and processes.- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits and reviews.- Updates and advances job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.ExperienceB.S. in Accounting/Finance, or Business with a focus on accounting/finance, with 5+ years of experienceKnowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP and IFRS.Knowledge of Mexican maquiladora accounting requirements.Highly skilled in the use of Excel spreadsheets.Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast paced environment.Ability to examine issues or problems & make decisions.Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and ability to communicate both verbally and written.Ability to work with others and maintain effective relations.Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.Perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner.Investigates questionable data.Gathers & analyzes information skillfully & in a timely manner
