To expand our reach and shift from B2C to B2B, we are looking to target partnerships with colleges and universities in USA and Canada. The Business Development Manager will not only spearhead our efforts to target and acquire these institutional partners but also take a hands-on role in executing these initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of the education sector, close high-value deals, and lay the foundation for long-term partnerships that will support our scaling efforts. This role is crucial to our mission of becoming a trusted resource for educational institutions and enhancing student learning outcomes.
Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify, target, and secure partnerships with colleges and universities in USA and Canada, aligning SolutionInn's platform with their academic and administrative needs.Conduct thorough market research to understand the specific challenges and needs of the education sector.Develop tailored strategies for engaging with institutional clients, creating proposals, and presenting SolutionInn's value proposition to academic decision-makers.Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.Present and pitch SolutionInn's platform to educational leaders, showcasing how it enhances student engagement and academic performance.Negotiate terms, finalize contracts, and ensure a smooth handoff to the partnerships team for onboarding.Build and maintain long-term relationships with universities, ensuring a deep understanding of their evolving needs.Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, and client success) to ensure the successful implementation of our platform within partnered institutions.Actively work to expand existing partnerships, identifying opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.Identify emerging trends in the higher education sector and adapt strategies accordingly.Participate in educational conferences, webinars, and networking events to increase SolutionInn's visibility and attract potential partners.Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators related to business development efforts, ensuring that goals and revenue targets are met.As the company grows, lead the business development function, including hiring and managing Business Development Executives or additional sales staff.Contribute to the overall business strategy, working closely with senior management to refine growth plans and institutional outreach.Skills RequiredEnglish language Fluency (American Accent Preferred).Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.Proven track record of closing large deals with academic institutions and building long-term strategic partnerships.Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to structure win-win deals that benefit both SolutionInn and its partners.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather insights from data and market trends to inform business strategies.Ability to think strategically about growth opportunities, while also being hands-on in execution.Outstanding relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trust and rapport with senior academic stakeholders.Proactive approach to maintaining and nurturing long-term partnerships.Familiarity with the academic ecosystem, including decision-making processes within colleges and universities.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred).Job Experience2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably within the education sector or EdTech.Other BenefitsCompetitive hourly rate.Commission on sales.Job Working HoursFlexible Working Hours (Between 9AM EST to 5PM EST)
