KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain 3D math models, sub-assemblies, modules, and drawings of automotive drivetrain components using NX Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Design components from a variety of manufacturing processes: Castings, forgings, stampings, powdered metal, machined turned components, molded plastics.
- Create math models using sketcher and parametric modeling.
- Create detail, sub-assembly and assembly drawings using ASME standards.
- Create exploded view drawings.
- Interpret information from Engineering: sketches, marked prints, catalog references, layouts and other information.
- Create Tolerance Stack Ups using Excel and create Stack path details.
- Checking of drawings of other Designers in support of assigned projects.
- Material selection, standards, and use knowledge.
- Must complete assigned tasks within established project timelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5 years design experience in powertrain products with Associate's Degree or 3 years design experience with Bachelors Degree
- Proficient in NX CAD design in 3D math models and drawings
- Proficient of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficient with ASME Y14.5M related to Detail Drawing Requirements
- TeamCenter data management experience
- Proficient with Microsoft office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Interpersonal relations require professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage technical details
- Experience in the automotive industry or industrial design.
