The Electronics Commodity Specialist is a growth position within the Electronics Strategic team.
Experience with, logistics, and supply continuity in the electronics commodity is preferred but not require.
Reconciling monthly forecast and budget will be a major portion of this position.
The Commodity Specialist will work with the Commodity Manager to help develop robust strategies on electronics for both auto and non-auto business.
This position ensures all purchasing requests are completed in an efficient, timely manner, while simultaneously working to lower costs, as well as manage inventory, work with electronic suppliers on supply constraints and over all budgets for electronics purchasing team.
This position takes direction from the Commodity Manager to execute sourcing strategies for Electronics commodities, including but not limited to integrated circuits, components, connectors, Contract Manufacturers and PCBAs.
General Responsibilities
- Leads collaboration with functional areas to populate sourcing events, making decisions on sourcing event structure, supplier pool, selection criteria and event outcome criteria
- Leadsactivities as required cross-functionally, including Planning, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Finance, Legal and Manufacturing
- Leads in the continuous development of the Procurement function towards the best practices
- Responsible for the delivering of corporate aligned procurement objectives supporting total company strategic vision
- Lead with implementing communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to upper management, business partners, and suppliers
- Lead in supplier risk assessments, risk management and disaster recovery planning
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e.
Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Ability to work with large excel spreadsheets is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and a good attitude is required.
- Communicate to the supplier base on Sensata's KPI's targets.
- Implementation cost reduction initiatives in purchases component and coordinate necessary activities with the correlated teams working on this activity such engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, etc.
- Support R&D function in new product development.
- Work with Commodity Manager on building supplier relationship, performance management and development
- Assist in identifying savings opportunities across spend areas.
- Assist Commodity Manager on report monthly financial data.
