.Purpose Statement: The Configuration Engineer receives process, interpret, analyze and coordinate the customer documentation, assuring the integrity and life time period of the information. Suggest manufacturing design product improvements and is responsible for all job-related clerical and tactical functions related to the tracking, implementation of ECOs and Deviations. Responsibilities also include aiding in product containment, problem resolution, labor cost impact estimation and ensuring implementation of all released Change Orders and Deviations, ensuring the successful completion of the production assembly process, coordinates ECO implementations established with customer, from the beginning and until the end of the lifecycle of product.- Key Job Accountabilities:- Customer Data Package - Receive and review customer data package to ensure package is adequate to enable creation of Plexus internal data package. Request missing or incomplete data from the customer. Lead the resolution of discrepancies identified between the customer and Plexus documentation with the appropriate customer contact and/or Plexus Program Management as they arise to ensure accuracy.- Bill of Materials - Load customer bill of material data, validate revision consistency, and accurately load customer bill of materials structure into Agile PLM ensuring proper set-up of new component/item data. Complete bill of materials comparison between customer bill of material and customer bill of material to ensure data integrity. Structure Bill of Material with support of Product Engineer to best align with assembly sequence, traceability requirements, and material back-flushing. Manage Approved Vendor/Manufacturer Lists. Select appropriate media type (tape and reel, tray, etc.) to support manufacturability.- Change Control - Lead the accurate and timely entry of Engineering Change Order, Deviations/Waivers, and Problem Advisories in Plexus Agile PLM. Verify changes align with customer data package and proper customer approval has been received. Ensure material availability aligns with cut-in/phase-in strategy. Monitor approval workflows to ensure a timely release to the customer team. Ensure Engineering Change Order and Problem Advisory closure. Monitor deviations/waivers for expiration.- Implementation of Changes - Lead the implementation of Engineering Change Orders, Deviations/Waivers, and Problem Advisories being released. Collaborate with program management, materials, and product engineering to determine implementation date. Ensure production release, route, and assembly build instructions are updated to reflect the change and align with the work order release. Document affected product. Support any product containment required due to changes. Support cost impact calculations- Production Support - Support customer team and production associates to help them understand the changes and/or requirements
