For 4 years now, **MAS Seeds **developed its activities in Mexico, especially in R&D in Queretaro for summer season and in San Juan de Abajo, Nayarit for winter season. All breeding programs from Europe use now our platform in winter to speed up their breeding process to produce hybrids, multiply lines and produce DH faster at high quality level. As part of replacement, we are looking for our **Corn operations lead** to plan, execute and control around 50 has of nurseries in collaboration with our European breeders and the local R&D Mexican team.
**Mission**:
Your main mission will be to manage from sowing till harvest including flowering the production of corn trial seeds and corn breeding line seeds in winter generation nurseries respecting established protocols to reach quality, quantity and time schedule.
You will** **have the responsibilities to:
- Lead, supervise and collaborate with all aspects of pollination, from sowing to harvest
- Manage and monitor field operations, including mapping, labeling, monitoring, and data collection, while collaborating with agronomists on necessary interventions
- Supervise the flowering process, including workforce training, off-type removal, detasseling, and pollination
- Plan, monitor, and participate in the harvest, including maturity evaluation and drying operations
- Track work plan progress and evaluate the performance of activities within your scope
- Participate in the inventory of available equipment, identify needs and request necessary items
- Drive innovation with technology like drones and GPS and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate on various projects, adapting to seasonal work plans and departmental needs
- Participate in the annual review to propose improvements within your scope
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in plant Breeding/Agro Sciences
- Several years of experience in same area
- Knowledge of the physiology and the agronomy of corn, seed production, seed process
