The Electronics product area develops and delivers Automotive Grade Electronics solutions to address the requirements of today's connected and tomorrow's automated car.About the Position:We are looking for a Direct Materials Buyer to join the Electronic System Purchasing team, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager. This position is based at our office in Aguascalientes, Mexico.As the Direct Materials Buyer at Marelli, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply of materials required for production. This role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships to ensure quality, price, and delivery alignment with the company's needs.Your Responsibilities will be:Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability. Maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to ensure consistent service levels. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or delivery.Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives. Negotiate and manage contracts, including terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Track market trends and stay informed about material costs and availability.Inventory Management: Collaborate with production and inventory teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules. Optimize inventory levels to minimize waste and storage costs while avoiding stockouts.Cost Management: Analyze and manage the total cost of materials purchased, seeking cost reduction opportunities. Prepare and present cost reports to management.Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as production, quality assurance, and R&D to meet material requirements. Participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and process improvement initiatives.What Qualifications you will bring:Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
