Eaton's VEH NAA North America Auto division is currently seeking a EHS Engineer.
**What you'll do**:
**PRIMARY FUNCTION**:
Ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates, while supervising waste water treatment on site.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
1) Develops/maintains chemical emergency response plans and ensures drills are performed to document plan effectiveness. May serve as the plant emergency coordinator.
2) Evaluates proposed projects and proposed new chemicals and ensures plans are in-place and implemented to address EHS compliance issues.
3) Supports and plant's ISO 14001 EMS
4) Ensures required employee EHS training is completed on-time and documented. May perform training.
5) Develops and implements plant programs, policies and procedures to conform to Eaton EHS mandates, e.g. MESH, ISO 14001, PASST, Industria Limpia
6) Investigates EHS incidents/accidents to determine root causes and prepares and implements corrective action plans.
7) Leads Energy Management initiatives in the site aligned to MESH CAT 2.
**Qualifications**:
1) Comprehension of industry/state/country specific environmental, health, and safety requirements.
2) Thorough knowledge and training for EHS systems development and deployment.
3) Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
4) Four (4) year degree in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical engineering, chemistry, industrial hygiene, safety or equivalent.
5) Management systems / international standards (ISO, OSHA)
6) Good level of English
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**:
2) Ability to identify multiple cost effective options to address EHS matters.
3) Experience with communicating with regulatory agencies.
