Job Description SummaryThe Manager Financial Controls & Compliance will be responsible for planning and executing high-quality controls testing and risk advisory support that meet Novartis Financial Controls Manual standards and SOX 404 requirements. This position will support ongoing FC&C activities as well as support new activities related to S4HANA Digital Landscape Transformation (LDC) implementation in the US, including risk assessment and evaluation of control impacts.Job DescriptionMajor Accountabilities:Understand Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and SOX 404 requirements and ensure compliance with those requirements and US specific needs.Conduct end-to-end process walkthroughs to gain deep understanding of process and identify controls.Independently test effectiveness of NFCM controls.In coordination with the control owner, ensure a timely reporting of control deficiencies to regional/global team members and agree on any necessary remediation actions.Liaison with key business partners, including Control Owners, CFO, FRA Head and Financial Controls & Compliance team.Identify potential risks and opportunities for simplification, recommend controls or business operational improvements.Raise awareness of risks in the organization.Support Internal and external audits requirements as needed.Deliver or support special US and Global projects including S4HANA Digital Landscape Transformation (LDC) and support evaluation of impacts on NFCM controls.Temporary position 1 yearRequirements:Bachelor's degree or Equivalent 4-year degree required; degree subject area in Finance or Accounting preferred.Master's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business a plus.CA/CPA/CIA certification preferred.5+ years of accounting, compliance, audit experience and Financial Controls & Compliance experience.Proven strong Project management experience – S4HANA deployment experience is a plus.Multi-national and/or multi-dimensional organization experience preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence/motivate others under different geographies/cultural and hierarchy settings.IT audit experience and acumen is a plus.Pharmaceutical industry/manufacturing experience preferred.SAP or Shared services experience a plus.Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.Skills Desired:Ability To Influence Key StakeholdersBuilding Effective TeamsCritical ThinkingEffective CommunicationsFinancial AccountingFinancial And Management ReportingPeople DevelopmentProcess OptimizationResource AllocationUnderstanding Value Drivers#J-18808-Ljbffr
