About the Role
The LATAM Reporting team is responsible for the end-to-end compliance of all Uber's entities in the LATAM region, both financial reporting and corporate tax. Our team works closely with our Tax, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, and Finance Operations teams and external consultants to ensure that we're compliant across the region.
This role will help to lead LATAM reporting (excluding Mexico and Brazil), ensure 100% compliance, and create best practice procedures and policies so that we're always doing things better.
What the Candidate Will Do
1. Manage directly 3 staff, with additional support from external consultants.
2.
Take full ownership and responsibility for compliance in 15 countries in the LATAM region (not including Mexico or Brazil).
3. Collaborate with our global compliance team and lead projects to ensure we automate processes and create best practice processes on an international level.
4. Be a strong team player who is able to work with people across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
1. 9+ years of experience in financial reporting or local tax compliance.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
3. CPA/CA/ACCA/equivalent qualification.
4. A strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and principles across LATAM.
5. Strong team management experience.
6. Team player with the ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges.
7. Strong communication skills and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders.
8. Ability to interact with all departments and levels throughout our organization.
9. Excellent project and time management skills,
ability to prioritize and multitask.
10. Fluency in English and Spanish.
Bonus Points
1. Big 4 experience is a strong plus.
2. Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred.
