**Position overview**:
Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the Fleet and MHE Specialist is responsible for the support of the Optimas Fleet of delivery vehicles across the North America region and its' over 25 locations. Support of the fleet includes the budget, maintenance and upkeep of trucks, vans, and forklifts, safety standards, and communications to upper and local management.
**Main responsibilities**:
- Develop, refine, and maintain standards for Fleet and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) performance, vehicle repairs, data collection, and reporting.
- Coordinate with fleet management software provider ensuring compliance at all locations.
- Coordinate driver training and fleet utilization with local management
- Participate in budgeting, costing, and forecasting
- Track projects and action logs
- Analyze and execute freight cost saving projects
- Manage and enhance budget tracking and visibility tools
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- 3+ years of experience in fleet maintenance field, covering a range of fleet elements
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with other departments
- Self-motivated, high energy and strong time management skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take lead and drive for results
