Capital Health Medical Group is made up of more than 250 physicians and other providers who offer primary and specialty care, as well as hospital-based services, to patients throughout the region.Position Overview:**Responsibilities**:- Interviews and registers patients to obtain demographic, identifying, and other information including injury, specific test, and name for patient to gain health access.- Provides assistance to patients in need of help completing documentation.- Obtains and verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization and required signature.- Completes appropriate documentation. Obtains and verifies account and medical record numbers for accuracy and enters information into computer registration system.- Maintains filing system in a current and accurate manner.- Greets patients and visitors in a pleasant manner and makes them feel welcome.- Takes accurate messages and directs calls appropriately and efficiently.- Transmits proper documentation such as the physical capabilities recommendation form to employers and insurance companies after each patient visit.- Informs clinical staff when emergency or urgent situations arise.- Monitors patient flow and observes activity within the waiting room and advises staff of waiting periods and backlogs.- Schedules patients for consultation and treatment appointments. Pre-registers or manually pre-registers patients as necessary.- Inputs charges, fees, and diagnosis codes into patient accounts in an accurate manner on a daily basis.- Performs a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks and related duties for department operations and functions in accordance with departmental and CH policies, practices, and procedures.**Requirements**:- High school diploma or equivalency.- One or more years of related experience or training.Physical Demands & Work Environment:- Frequent physical demands include: Sitting, Keyboard use/repetitive motion, Talk or Hear- Occasional physical demands include: Standing, Walking, Climbing (e.G., stairs or ladders), Carry objects, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor activities, Taste or Smell- Continuous physical demands include:- Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs.
