We're proud to foster an inclusive environment driving innovation and excellence, and we welcome you to join us on our mission to shape the future of clinical development.As Legal Counsel on the Ethics & Compliance team, you will lead the ethics and compliance program in LATAM and support the global team on managing compliance operations.Responsibilities:Embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement, focusing on streamlining processes that add value to our business and meet client needs.Act as key Point of Contact for the ICON Ethics & Compliance program in LATAM, promoting the program across regional business leads and providing pragmatic and timely advice on general ethics and compliance issues and queries:Act as the primary point of contact for ethics and compliance support in the region (including Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Healthcare Compliance, Trade Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering).Conduct training independently for employees at different levels and ICON vendors, develop training materials, and monitor training progress.Identify ethics and compliance matters that require follow-up or investigation, and provide assistance as appropriate.Assist in internal investigations arising in LATAM of a compliance nature.Assist and manage legal regulatory requests and investigations in LATAM.Build relationships with regional business leads to partner and support in relation to compliance issues.Provide regional LATAM support for other global compliance initiatives and controls.Review and advise on MSA, vendor, and other third-party compliance contractual terms.Act as legal escalation point of contact for compliance screening of third parties.Provide legal advice on vendor compliance issues/escalations.Assist in the review of compliance disclosure requests from time to time.Lead and manage ICON's Ethics and Compliance Operations globally, which will include responsibility for:Policy ManagementEthics and Compliance TrainingCommunications StrategyAudit and RFI DefenseMaintenance of mailbox and other centralized resourcesInternal team trainingTeam Metrics and MonitoringBilling and InvoicingAssist Compliance Monitoring Manager in reviewing, tracking, and reporting on compliance monitoring controls within the business.To be successful in the role, you will have:3 years + PQE (Qualified Lawyer PQE)Relevant working experience in ethics and compliance and/or compliance operationsA good understanding of legal, regulatory, and risk management concepts (anti-bribery corruption, economic trade sanctions, anti-money laundering, whistleblower awareness)Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is required.Able to work effectively in both independent and team settings
