PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- _Management of the global mode team staff. _Ensuring compliance to Emerson policies related to employee relations and ethics standards. Including internal training requirements and establishing annual goals, objectives and training plans for each direct report.
- _Project management related to the strategic planning for mode management for the Americas. _Including regional tensioning plans, management of key in region providers and leadership for the center led regional mode teams.
- _Oversight of the strategic mode team processes _including the development of common processes for the selection, development, tensioning and implementation of transportation providers.
- _Oversight of the global provider risk mitigation process and reporting. _Closely monitoring providers risk related to financials, legal and business requirements. (certifications, insurance etc.) Including taking the necessary actions to minimize Emerson's exposure to potential supply chain disruptions.
- _Coordination and resolution of issues related to the logistics network and the escalation of any critical issues to management. _
- _Communication and interactions with the Global Business Leaders (GLBLs), _for matters pertaining to mode management.
- _Reporting of Key Metrics, participation in supply chain and logistics strategic meetings _including the development and presentation of materials to management.
- _Support of the on-boarding initiatives for freight under management in the Freight Audit & Payment (FAP) program _
- _Lead the on-boarding initiatives of increasing freight under management in the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) program _
- _Position requires both regional and international travel. _Five to seven days per month as required.
**EDUCATION**:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, supply chain or related field or equivalent experience.
**EXPERIENCE / SKILLS**:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential. Including appropriate language skills to ensure proper communication with the global program management team (English) and local plant personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point, Excel, and Word software
- Knowledge in Power BI, Oracle Transportation or Programming skills are a plus.
- Demonstrate competency in working and excelling in a team environment including the ability to interact across all levels of management within and outside the organization
- Demonstrate competency in mentoring/developing junior/develop members of her/his team
- Strong project management skills including analytical and problem solving capabilities.
- Understands basic concepts of supply chain and information systems
- Familiarity with transportation and supply chain concepts and systems. Knowledge of regional or local providers is desirable.
- Ability to multi-task and work in multi-disciplinary teams
- English and local language capabilities.
