**Job Summary**
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for schedule and direct a crew of maintenance technicians; train and provide work direction and guidance while performing work in machine and building repair activities. In charge of ordering machine parts and maintain spare parts inventory.
**Essential Functions**
- Performs research, design and development of production equipment.
- Complies and enforces security norms and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Applies food safety engineering concepts when installing new equipment or improving existing one.
- Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
- Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel.
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians.
- Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.
- Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and supervise activities with mechanics and technicians.
- Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product.
- Must report any food safety and/or food quality problems to department supervisor.
**Education**
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar field) or 3 years in plant maintenance experience.

- Technical skills in manufacturing processes
- PLC, semi automation and machine trouble shooting experience
- Knowledge of Lock out Tag out procedure
- Knowledge of electricity, electronics and pneumatics
- Quality and Food Safety orientation is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Must be computer literate

Pay: $6,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
