Objective of the position: The Daimler Trucks North America Procurement Department (TT/GN5-44) is a fast paced, high-energy team responsible for supporting the operational requirements for the entire TT/GN organization. Work within Procurement Guidelines and Procedures to ensure the most competitive options for the company and maintain compliance. Liaison with Managers in Portland to ensure timely closing of Purchasing requisitions into purchase orders and manage local budgets for the Central Purchasing Operations Team (CPO). Lead, mentor and train CPO Managers and Agents. Drive continuous improvement by evaluating process and systems gaps, identifying and implementing solutions in collaboration with cross functional and external business partners in North America, Germany, and India. Academic Knowledge: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college required.8 years of experience required. At least 2 years of group leader, supervisory or project lead. Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years of experience in a related technical, operational, or financial field preferred.

Main Functions:
- Manage a department of 25 CPO employees, manage operational support services for TT/GN Purchasing and implement initiatives to achieve improved results for Daimler Trucks North America.
- Train and develop CPO Teams to further their growth and enhance their effectiveness.
- Provide leadership for the development and execution of TT/GN Operational strategies targeted at achieving higher profitability for Daimler Trucks North America.
- Manage and participate on global corporate teams as part of the NPS 2.0. In this context, develop both regional and global strategies to support achievement of respective targets.
- Partner with purchasing colleagues locally and globally, including Production and Aftermarket as necessary.
- Evaluate alternative methods, and technologies as necessary.
- Monitor markets, trends and continuous cost improvement ideas to execute strategy that achieves best cost position for Daimler Trucks North America. -Manage transactional team metrics including part requisitions, price discrepancies and other transactions to ensure timely and consistent part availability for our customers.
- Ensure that CPO teams understand the needs of the customers and develop a participative management culture that encourages transparency and decision making at all levels.
- Provide Management and team with regular feedback/overview regarding progress on targets and projects. Detect potential opportunities, shortfalls, delays, and bottlenecks, and propose countermeasures where necessary.
