- **Job Purpose Summary**
The Manager, Quality Engineering is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance processes to ensure the production of high-quality products. This role involves managing a team of quality engineers, establishing quality control standards, and collaborating with various departments to drive continuous improvement in product quality and manufacturing processes.
- The Manager, Quality Engineering will be expected to be onsite at our facility in Tijuana, Mexico, Monday-Friday (add hours).
- **What you will do**
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in achieving quality objectives.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive quality assurance strategy tailored to the manufacturing processes and products.
- Leads root cause analysis, investigation activities and corrective action planning for quality issues to avoid reocurrence.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to implement best practices and enhance manufacturing processes.
- Implement preventive measures to minimize defects and non-conformances in manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO, FDA, GMP).
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify adherence to quality standards and procedures.
- Writes, edits and approves investigation reports
- Promote and champion activities and initiatives aimed at improving the organization's quality culture.
**What you will need**
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of certification and work experience
- 7+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience as a people manager
- Must be able to speak fluent English and Spanish
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, statistical software programs, operating systems, etc.
- Experience in providing leadership to technical teams and the use of problem-solving methodologies such as DMAIC, Six-Sigma, etc.
- High level of technical writing ability
- Strong project management skills with an ability to work cross-functionally
- ASQ Quality Engineer/Manager Certification preferred
