The AEM Software Engineering manager leads a team of AEM and UI developers to deliver new features on the AEM Platform using the Agile framework.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provide expertise or play lead technical role for development team in all matters related to design, develop, deployment, building and release process.
- Provide input and feedback to the team on topics of architecture, quality, user experience, and requirements.
- Collaborating with the Product Management team and Project Management to identify and prioritize features, clarify requirements and obtain cross-function approvals.
- Participate in all grooming and priority setting sessions
- Creates and defines key performance metrics for velocity and run rate
- Evaluates new tools, technologies and processes to improve speed, efficiency and scalability.
- Establishes plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
- Accountable for handling critical production issues with appropriate escalations and participates in root cause analysis and develops short, mid and long term remediations
- Accountable for adherence of established ITIL practice such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management
- Defines SLAs based on criticality
- Creates and defines monitoring operational standards, key performance metrics and critical runbooks
- Accountable to recruit, hire, mentor and coach development engineers at different levels of experience
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the development team with focus on prioritization and business impact
- Formulate team coding standards, including using comments well to pay it forward for teammates who will later maintain your code.
- Mentor, coach, and motivate a team of software engineers to organize work, breakdown tasks, and ship software.

Minimum qualifications:

- 8+ years of professional experience in software development & support at enterprise level
- 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related IT field
- Extensive experience with integrating unit tests, code coverage, automation tests in Gitlab CICD pipelines
- Extensive experience with Adobe AEM development, with strong Java and JavaScript background.
- Extensive experience building, debugging, and deploying AEM templates, components, and bundles.
- Extensive experience with JavaScript templating engines, Sightly, HTML, CSS, Granite, Coral UI.
- Strong understanding of web services, integration within AEM.
- Experience with Sling, Maven, ACS/Adobe Commons.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting issues across a complex IT ecosystem across multiple cross-functional teams
- Highly experienced with Agile practices (Kanban or Scrum) and full software development lifecycles
- Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion
- Data driven, utilizing metrics to measure performance gaps and increase productivity by improving the operational processes.
- Ability to think not only at the local level but also drive improvement on the global scale.
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for high availability and uptime
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
