What to Expect
Tesla seeks engineers to lead mechanical design projects at its Mexico Gigafactory. Responsibilities include managing project design, collaborating with teams, evaluating solutions, and presenting findings. You'll also perform feasibility studies, assist with cost estimation and procurement, and guide designers. Collaborating with contractors, ensuring document adherence, and performing final project closeouts.
What You'll Do

What You'll Bring
- Licensed Engineer with Minimum 10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, preferably on industrial-scale projects wuth LEED Certification being a plus
- Proficient understanding of psychometrics, flow models, pressure drop calculations, material compatibility analysis, SMACNA standards and calculations
- Proficiency in air distribution systems design (ductwork, registers, terminal units, accessories, etc.)
- Proficiency in hydronic system and distribution systems design included but not limited to various heating, cooling and energy recovery infrastructures
- Proficiency in the design, selection, and coordination with other trades of equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, fans, filtration systems)
- Proficiency in the local governing codes and standards as relatable to mechanical engineering design. Working knowledge of mechanical specifications with capacity to review and modify as needed
- Experience in designing for Hazardous Occupancy (as defined by the International Building Code), dust collection systems and abatement systems
