Provides support for changes to existing equipment or introduction of new equipment. Carries out a pre-planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule on all key assets and equipment. Executes the tasks defined in the Maintenance Department to ensure that there is mínimal downtime, either through planned preventive maintenance or through the effective use of resources so that unscheduled breakdowns have mínimal disruption to operations.The Mechanical Technician follows directions form the Facility and Maintenance Supervisor (i. e. motivated, developed managed, evaluated, etc.) executes day-to-day operations of the department in optimal manner, uses effectively the resources of the company, complies optimal following of safety and environmental standards, complies predictive and preventative maintenance programs, and executes repairs, modifications and upgrades on all key assets and equipment. The team of Mechanical and Electrical Technicians, guided by the Facility and Maintenance Supervisor supports the continuous improvement and success of daily manufacturing operations. Regular contact with Facility and Maintenance Supervisor, first line supervisors and Process Engineers is critical.**Essential Responsibilities**- Maintain a system to carry out preventative and predictive planned maintenance on all key assets, including diagnostic tools, tests and assessments.- Identify and maintain a Maintenance stores system for all key machine/equipment spares and consumables- Perform pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding to component or device level.- Perform mechanical fault finding on gearboxes etc to component or device level.- Site services maintenance including installation and troubleshooting of electrical, gas, water and air systems. Portable appliance testing and the maintenance and fault finding on boilers, compressors etc. 5. Repair and maintain physical structure of plant- Team Participation: routine involvement with a variety of plant teams focused on continuous improvement. Occasionally serve as facilitator of such teams.- Set up and operate machine tools (lathes, grinders, mills, drill presses, etc.) to repair and/or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.- When properly trained, may run production equipment when required to assist in the timely completion of production schedules.**Bachelor´s Degree**:Bachelor's or technical degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering/technology
