**The Opportunity**
Perform complex multi-discipline electrical, dimensional and physical calibrations on all Abbott measurement and process control equipment. Schedule, pick up and deliver equipment to internal users and document actions on an equipment control data base. Develop and write calibration procedures based on component specifications using spreadsheet, flow chart and word processing software and programming software. Perform system troubleshooting on all equipment types to the board level. Review documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy and completeness. Perform data analysis, measurement studies and calibration certifcate analysis. Perform outside calibration supplier evaluation and purchase calibration standards.
Supervise the calibration area personnel assigned, providing direction consistent with the calibration program, planning and system documentation.
**What You'll Do**
- Coordinate daily activities of the site Calibration group. Will serve as point of contact for daily requests for calibration services and expedition of urgent calibrations. This includes prioritization and assignment of tasks to within the group as business needs dictate.
- Perform root cause analysis on Out-of-Tolerance equipment and assign corrective actions as needed.
- Provide site specific monthly report input and analysis of metrics.
- Provide calibration planning on production line moves and transfers.
- Provide calibration startup and integration analysis, planning, implementation and support for acquisitions, new plants and remote product transfers.
- Perform multi-discipline calibrations and complex measurement systems.
- Generate specification documents for outside calibration services.
- Automate single discipline calibration functions.
- Plan training or calibration trips to off-site facilities.
- Availability to travel by air to remote manufacturing sites to provide support or for NPIs
- Design calibration fixtures.
- Select standards for complex/system calibration procedures based on tolerance accuracy ratios, specifications and measurement uncertainty.
- Complete assigned projects.
**Required Qualifications**
- ** Education**:Metrologist, Electricity, mechanics, chemistry, electronics, industrial engineering, electromechanical or other related technical fields or equivalent combination of training.
- Experience developing calibration test methods on different magnitudes.
- Experience in ISO 17025.
- ASQ CCT or equivalent certification/education is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, FDA regulations, ISO 13485 and applicable worldwide regulatory requirements.
- Advance English.
