.TE Connectivity's Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.**What your background should look like**:**Responsibilities**:1. Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.- Lead a team of engineers who will:- Develop cable assembly automation lines in accordance with LEANPD product development- Drive for excellence in existing automation technologies and methods- Strive to implement new automation technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control- Support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM) and piece parts for automation manufacturability; realizes proof of concept tooling, product samples and prototypes.- Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE Data and Devices quality and production standards.- Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability.- Act as the binding element between product development and automation engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.- Maintain communication with project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs- Prioritize and time manage a portfolio of projects/work efforts based on criticality and business need- Provide readouts to Director and VP level cross function management as necessary- Work with Hermosillo operations team to assign resources necessary for the successful execution of new automation development- Facilitate and coordinate cross-function communication across globally matrixed organization**Qualifications**:1. Bachelor or above degree with mechanical/electric related majors; 2. At least 5 years related experience managerial level in multinational manufacturing site; 3. Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma. etc. industrial methods/tools; 4. With 2 years or abovework experience in cable assembly automation is preferred; 5. Fluent in English andgood presentation skills; 6.
