Middle Data Scientist, Food Industry

Client: Our client is the parent company that oversees a conglomerate of major companies operating in the retail and food industries across Latin America.Position overview: The data scientist utilizes extensive expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data mining, and data collection to craft, prototype, and construct advanced analysis models and services. Collaborating with stakeholders, the data scientist assists in delineating technical problem statements and hypotheses for testing.- Technology stack: Working with large datasets (big data)- Familiarity with Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.- Responsibilities: Design, create, test, and implement complex models and algorithms that drive analytical solutions across the organization- Conduct advanced statistical analyses to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance- Collaborate with stakeholders and understand business issues to implement scalable and sustainable solutions- Coordinate with the information technology department, digital technology specialists, and data engineers to provide comprehensive analytical solutions- Support stakeholders in communicating the design, functionality, and results of developed analytical models/solutions- Ensure timely analysis and testing for regular maintenance of solutions over time- Manage various priorities effectively- Provide realistic estimates for tasks- Report into various program workstreams on progress and issues- Develop automated checks for data analysis tasks, ensuring repeatability and efficiency- Use Git as a code management tool to version control and collaborate on the codebase- Present detailed findings to non-technical senior stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner- Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field Proven experience in data architecture, data governance, and data management- 2-3 years of experience in a role related to statistics, data science, or business intelligence- Must have experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization, or related fields; deep experience in working with large datasets (big data), simulation/optimization, or distributed computing tools is beneficial- Programming experience is required; specific experience in R or Python is an advantage- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Expert knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and data privacy regulations- Proficiency in data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage tools- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication and leadership abilitiesNice to have: Experience working with large datasets, simulation/optimization, and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.)
