OPTICAL FIBER INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN – UTP WIRING AND CONNECTION Purpose of the Job: To undertake delegated responsibilities from the Installation Supervisor, PrIM for the delivery of site works. The field operation manager takes responsibility for a stage/package/section of installation within the project contracted installation scope.
Responsibilities: Execute specific installation activities according to the design documentation and Installation Supervisor orientation/instruction.Comply with EHS procedures and maintain PPE defined by EHS, ensuring collective protections are in place, and alert the supervisor/PrIM whenever any deviation to EHS rules or risks are identified.Ensure the right means to perform the installation:Tools calibratedUnderstanding of drawings and Method statementRight materialAccurate knowledge/training for performing the workPerform activities with quality – No deviation versus drawings and method statement = No punch point.Report and alert the hierarchical superior if any risks, difficulties, or issues are identified during the installation activities that may impact safety, quality, and/or performance of the work.As Team Leader / Capataz, the following responsibilities will be assumed:
Manage the team for performing a task in a work location: Review up-to-date documentation, verify tools, verify skills, train workers if required, verify availability of material and equipment for the team to perform the tasks required.Perform reports as per request to the Installation Supervisor / PrIM: Daily progress report, survey report, anomaly report, EHS report, preparation of handover report.As Fiber Optic Installation Technician – UTP Wiring and Connection, the following responsibilities will be assumed:
Have expertise in critical tasks – for example, technical: Fiber Optical (Installation, fusion, and Testing), UTP (Wiring and Connection).Train and assess project team – Support Team Leader or Worker for developing skills and competencies on his expertise knowledge for a dedicated project.Minimum Required Competences: Educational Requirements: Mandatory: Minimum high school degree, medium technical level in (preferably electronics or electric or electromechanics systems) or equivalent experience of 3 to 5 years in similar functions.Desirable: Construction Industry (Electrical or Electronic), Communication Industry, Fiber Optic Field, Technical High-School Diploma.Experience: Mandatory: Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Industrial activities related to Electrical, Electronic, Fiber Optic Field within the industry.Relevant experience on railway site management and EHS management.Experience on railway products installation methods.Competencies & Skills: Good technical level in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and networks domains.Result-driven mindset.Good communication with colleagues and other functions (engineering, manufacturing, industrial, quality).Problem-solving and efficient decision-making in complex environments.Ability to work across sites/functions in a multi-cultural environment.Team spirit approach and good communication skills.Quality and EHS-focused, rigorous, team player.Resilience, with an analytic way of thinking to solve installation issues.Good leadership skills.Driving license.Important to note: As a global business, we're an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in.
