A buyer planner's job description includes:
- Purchasing: Buying raw materials, components, and services to meet production and customer needs
- Supplier management: Evaluating supplier quotes, negotiating prices, and maintaining relationships with vendors
- Order management: Ensuring orders are delivered on time and monitoring inventory levels
- Planning: Contributing to sales and operations planning, creating forecasts, and performing material and production planning
- Communication: Communicating with supply chain, production leads, supervisors, and accounting to resolve issues
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of purchase chain of custody documentation
- Compliance: Ensuring PO/contract/price compliance and insurance adequacy
- Cost control: Controlling inventory costs to achieve profitability targets
- Quality: Following up on quality issues to drive resolution with suppliers and internal teams
- Reporting: Reporting key measurables such as cost reductions and rebates
- Process improvement: Driving for standardization and continuous improvement of processes
Experiência y requisitos
**Requirements**:
- English level: intermediate - Advanced
- Bachelor's degree completed
- Planning and logistics tools
- Negotiation with suppliers
- Basic knowledge of billing
- Ability to negotiate delivery times
- Experience in the position 2-3 years
- MS Office
- MPS planning execution
- MRP execution and planning
- Materials sourcing
- FIFO
- Knowledge and design of production systems
