Position: Principal Food Scientist – Sauces & Dressings
Summary: Contributes to enable How to Win and Where to Play initiatives with specific focus on elevating Food Science capabilities and technologies related to the Sauces & Dressings product category. Leads product development projects and technical initiatives to develop new and optimized products for the NA S&D innovation pipeline.Functions as a lead scientist to develop new and optimized products in execution of technical activities that support NA S&D innovation pipeline.Applies scientific and engineering principles in research, formula development, production technology, quality control, packaging, processing, shelf life, and food applications.Works with considerable independence, exercising ingenuity and judgment in the approach to tasks. Responsible for the design, planning, execution, and reporting of experiments and projects of considerable complexity.Leads multiple priorities, projects, and timelines concurrently.Uses technical and problem-solving skills to approach complex projects.Acts as a mentor to junior scientists.Communicates project progress internally and externally with clients and suppliers.Completes product formulation, process design, and packaging selection activities to drive efficient production of safe and regulatory compliant food products.Completes product formulation activities to ensure compliance with the Global Nutrition Criteria.Implements Product Development processes to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of function.Maintains GLPs, GMPs, and all required development records, using formula management platforms and CRM.Participates in cross-functional task forces to support NA S&D initiatives to accomplish our LRP aspirations.Represents NA S&D R&D team in professional business relationships with clients and suppliers, academia, government, and corporations in the food industry.Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the security of all information regarding product formulas and related confidential information.Knowledge and Experience: Minimum level of education: BS in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or related technical degree.5 to 10 years of experience within the food industry.Experience should have included time in R&D; QA, production & packaging experience and working directly with customers and manufacturing facilities is desirable.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Griffith Foods believes that all persons are entitled to equal employment opportunity.
