**Summary**:
Serves as a core member for Griffith Production System (GPS) team to drive improvements/efficiencies and eliminate waste in the manufacturing plant.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
**GPS Methodology Steward**:

- Is a key resource in promoting the GPS methodology across the site via training, advocating, coaching etc.
- Coaches and trains plants employees on GPS tools and methods across all 3 shifts
- Receives training in various GPS/Lean tools such Kaizen, Standardized Work, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, SMED, VSM, Center Line, OPL, Skill MATRIX, and Waste Elimination.
- Seeks feedback and involvement from plant operators on problems identified and potential solutions.
- Completes multiple kaizen activities throughout the year as part of the OKAM program (One Kaizen A Month)
- Supports plant operators in the completion of OKAM activities and documenting on forms.
- Presents improvements to Plant and Leadership Teams during Plant Communication Meetings, Town Halls, and Steering Committee Meetings.
**GPS Projects**:

- Attends and participates in the monthly GPS workshops with internal core team and/or external consultants
- Research new machinery and technology to support & improve manufacturing costs & efficiencies and other opportunities.
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve manufacturing and support processes, practices, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Implements approved changes.
- Design small to medium Process Improvement projects.
- Participate in Root cause Analysis of chronic problems to improve capacity, reduce costs and build capability across site.
- Participate in Monthly Kaizen events and ideation sessions to identify new opportunities and eliminate waste in manufacturing process.
- Participate in OEE improvement plans and lead completion of tasks to meet Site wide goals (Mixing, Bagging, FormFill, Bartelt, Bakery, & Liquids).
- Train Operators on new technology & Lead Trials of new Process Improvement machinery.
- Monitor and track key metrics from Kaizen events and Equipment trials.
- Get Quality, Safety and Key stakeholder buy-in approvals on Process Improvement projects.
- Collaborates with Engineering and Maintenance teams to submit work orders for improvements and ensures completion.
- Receives training in various GPS/Continuous Improvement tools such Kaizen, Standardized Work, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, SMED, VSM, Center Line, OPL, Skill MATRIX and Waste Elimination.
- Seeks feedback and involvement from plant operators on problems identified and potential solutions.
- Completes multiple kaizen activities throughout the year as part of the OKAM program (One Kaizen A Month)
- Supports plant operators in the completion of OKAM activities and documenting on forms.
- Presents improvements to Plant and Leadership Teams.
- Completes time studies and work observations to help the team identify the current state and collaborates with the plant operators and GPS team to eliminate the identified waste.
- Owns selected key kaizen and Chronic projects for the site and drives those to completion.
- Management of scorecards and select manufacturing KPI.
- Maintain Repository of New Process Equipment & Manuals on Site portal.
**Requirements**:

- Very Strong technical mastery (desired), Engineering degree required.
- Minimum of 1-5 years' experience in Food Manufacturing.
- Minimum of 1-5 years' experience as Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, CI Engineer, Operational Excellence Engineer, Lean Engineer.
- Engineering Design experience preferred.
- Knowledge & Experience working with suppliers.
- Competent in Excel, Word and other Microsoft tools.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Six Sigma training is a plus.
- Business English required
