This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role PurposeThe Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, improvement, and implementation of processes in our optical cable manufacturing facility. They will be tasked with combining knowledge in plastic processing and extrusion, data analysis, statistics, and project management to ensure consistent, efficient and capable operation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and optimization of manufacturing processes in relation to plastic processing and extrusionPerforming data analysis and applying statistical methods to identify areas for improvementProject management for process improvements and new product introductionsTroubleshooting and resolving production issues related to equipment, processes, and materialsTraining of manufacturing personnel on new or revised manufacturing process proceduresDocumentation of procedures, process parameters, and process improvementsExperiences/Education - RequiredProven ability to use data analysis and statistics to drive process improvementsExperience in project managementStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, desirable in Phyton)Understanding of Six Sigma methodologiesFamiliarity with optical cable manufacturing processes and equipmentProficient in Project Management software and methodologies.Corning Puts YOU First!We are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential.
