About the job
Work with business in an agile way to help define business value creating use cases that improve and leverage Master Data in the Americas. Understand the business needs, proactively conduct exploratory and confirmatory analysis to identify product opportunities and discover product insights.
- Understand the value of Master Data Management, Data Governance and Stewardship, and Data Distribution, as well as the role of Master Data systems in each of these processes, and how they fit in the overall strategy of the organization.
- Serve as an expert resource on Master Data, providing guidance to adjacent business and technology teams so all relevant processes receive Master Data consistently and make a perfect use of them.
- Prioritize master data management requirements to deliver scalable capabilities. Develop and manage product backlog and prioritize based on key business value, arbitrating among different needs and priorities
- Comprehend complex master data environments with multiple source systems and have the ability to design solutions that meet functional business requirements in them.
- Support the design of efficiency solutions for the Master Data teams, such as automated workflow, robotic automation, data quality reports, and consistency monitoring.
- Define and drive adherence to data governance policies and standards to ensure quality, accuracy, and security of master data.
- Partner with other product teams and squads to co-develop master data products which drive value.
- Ensure consistency between the needs of end-users and stakeholders, as reflected in the vision of the product, its delivery, and its deployment and adoption.
- Stay up to date on the latest Master Data capabilities in the market and provide recommendations to Product Owners and business leaders.
- Balance short-term versus long-term actions, strategic versus tactical requirements, while continuing to move forward towards the strategic vision.
- Provide user training on the various Master Data Management systems.
Impact on Business Results
Contributes to business results by delivering Data Products with high value for the organization, unlocking new capabilities and ensuring high quality IT delivery.
The success of the Master Data Products will be measured through the following KPIs:
- Sprint velocity: Amount of work performed by the Data squad in each sprint
- Governance reach: Percentage of data products documented and published to data consumers.
- Data reliability: Percentage of days without data quality failures or data outages
Process & Projects
- Understand the concepts of Master Data Management and Data Governance.
- Deliver Master Data Management systems and solutions and turning the product vision into reality.
- Review specifications, providing technical designs.
- Design, develop, and test Master Data Management products effectively and efficiently.
- Optimize product development, minimizing the amount of effort required to maximize the value delivered to end-users.
- Create appropriate standards, processes, and tools to promote and facilitate development and delivery of prioritized business requests
- Trouble shoot and solve critical production issues.
About you
- Knowledge of Master Data in an ERP (or similarly complex enterprise management solution) context is a must; SAP is desirable.
- 5+ years' experience with Master Data Management processes, methods, functionalities, and activities.
- Knowledgeable about user experience / design thinking / data visualization / value.
- Solid communication, influencing and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment.
- Organized, focused and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with handling and curating external sources of Master Data.
- Experience with creating Single Sources of Truth for Master Data and securing a consistent distribution to downstream systems.
- Expertise developing and supporting Master Data Management systems is desired, such as Informatica MDM, Tamr, 1WorldSync, ORSOFT, and other similar software in the market.
- Experience with CPG and working agile are desired.
