.This client is seeking an experienced, purpose-driven educator to serve as its full-time School Principal starting in August 2024.
The School Principal oversees all aspects of the academic realm, from classroom climate to planning, instruction, and assessment to curriculum needs, as well as appropriate staffing of classes, while also managing any discipline/conflict issues among students, families, and/or staff, encouraging all to deal with any concerns in a Christian manner.
The principal also oversees all standardized testing, staff recruitment and care, and student event planning.This school enrolls international students from 1st through 12th grades.
The school has approximately eight full-time teachers and a comparable number of part-time teachers.The school provides a biblically-focused education with an English-language US curriculum to serve families seeking a Christian education in an international environment that promotes holistic growth and academic excellence.IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILEAn enthusiastic, authentic, and vibrant Christian faith and compatibility with the school's Statement of Faith.At least five years' experience as an educator with a passionate commitment to K-12 education.Fluency in written and spoken English.Demonstrated leadership ability in an educational or other non-profit setting.An ability to command the respect of all the school's constituencies, especially the students and their parents, the teachers and staff, and the board.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTSA Master's degree in Education or Administration, or comparable qualification.At least three years' experience teaching in a K-12 setting.Conversational Spanish.Professional experience in a cross-cultural educational setting.A three-year commitment.JOB DESCRIPTIONSchool Planning & DevelopmentDevelop and revise the school's continuous improvement plan based on its mission and vision.Use stakeholder data to refine areas of weakness and improve school performance.Present and inform the board regularly about the school's progress and current conditions.Conduct annual reviews and practice drills for safety and emergency policies.Regularly evaluate and update safeguarding policies and practices.Staff and Student RecruitmentPromote the school and recruit new staff and students through various channels.Review applications and oversee testing for new students.Oversee the development of promotional materials, including the school website and social media.Support and Encourage StaffUpdate personnel job descriptions annually.Inform staff of school policies and provide professional development opportunities.Encourage staff unity and address conflicts following established principles.Regularly observe and evaluate teachers for growth and development.School Culture and Extracurricular ActivitiesPlan and provide opportunities for extracurricular activities to support staff and students.Oversee chapel arrangements and spiritual emphasis activities
