Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer.
**What you'll do**:
**Position Overview**:
The primary purpose of this role will be to provide product engineering services to support the day-to-day operations of the assigned facility. This role will be the technical design leader responsible for oversight of our extensive conveyance product line and will work with a cross-functional team to support smooth operation of our manufacturing process at the assigned facility. Key tasks include problem-solving of systemic issues, identification of product improvements and implementation of corrective actions, review and disposition of discrepant material, and customer requirement's compliance review.
**Essential Responsibilities**:
- Provide product knowledge and expertise to the assigned plant as well as being a bridge between the assigned plant and the sending sites/design authorities through product expertise (including Eaton and industry standards) and in-depth knowledge of local capabilities.
- Support quick response to customer needs through providing engineering review of customer requests, working with other functions to determine failure root cause of returned material, producing failure analysis reports, and other activities as needed.
- Work in team environment to meet plant driven metrics for quality, safety, delivery, performance, and inventory through completion of product engineering actions including drawing error resolution, AEV reduction/elimination, DMR closure, SRR creation/review, ensuring adherence to ACES documents, and SMRR processing.
- Update engineering documentation as needed including facilitation of CR's and CO's.
- Support functional goals such as the review of engineering standards, engineering process improvements, and 5S.
- Participate on continuous improvement teams for the assigned plant's Conveyance product lines as product engineering representative.
- Champion product engineering driven cost out and support supply chain projects for all product lines to meet annual cost out targets. Provide design and product engineering support for cost out initiatives driven from other departments such as manufacturing and supply chain.

**Basic Qualifications**:
- 2-5 years' experience in an Engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in engineering required. (Mechanical or Aerospace discipline preferred.)
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Proficiency in CAD (CATIA V5 preferred)
- Exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques and materials
- Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems for documentation control and workflow management
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools such as value stream mapping, Kaizen, etc.
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) background.
- Write test procedures and qualification reports in support of project deliverables.
- Participate in new product development design reviews. Provide input from day-to-day experience. Learn from lead engineers for personal development for future roles.

- Understanding of design evaluation techniques such as reliability analysis, statistical tolerance stack-up, Failure Mode and Effect analysis (FMEA), etc.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and switch focus efficiently
- Ability to compose clear and concise written communication
