This professional is responsible for ensuring that all electrical tests are accomplished according to Vertiv Quality procedures. The role provides support to Reynosa manufacturing operations, overseeing the test procedures for various products including DC Power, Thermal, Alber, and Switchgear, while ensuring that the final deliverable aligns with the released design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Management to develop solutions, programs, and procedures.
- Manage the equipment, tooling, and techniques for all electrical tests of Vertiv products, focusing on achieving the electrical functionality requirements to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Provide services, projects,
or programs that help maintain or improve product electrical operation testing processes.
- Implement all processes for electrical testing needed to assure a product's electrical requirements, including new product development.
- Follow up and ensure the achievement of all objectives established by production management.
- Develop cost reduction ideas through process design, acquisition of tooling, capital equipment, or documentation improvements.
- Maintain or improve manufacturing efficiencies through optimal utilization of resources and equipment.
- Provide, manage, and update all types of documents (test guides, reports, forms, quality alerts) that guarantee product electrical requirements.
- Keep and revise electrical test yield records.
- Implement or identify new processes to improve yield results without affecting electrical test requirements or assembly process cycle time.
- Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.
- 1+ years of proven experience working with the design/configuration of electrical power distribution products and systems, with preference given to experience with switchgear.
- Develop Technician Certification programs.
- Provide assistance in solving equipment or manufacturing line problems.
- Provide training, coaching, and assistance to Test Technicians for the correct use of equipment and understanding of processes.
- Assist in product failure analysis.
- Define disposition for defective products or materials (to be returned to a supplier or junked).
- Support TL 9000 and ISO 9000 Quality International standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- PC working knowledge (MS Office, PDM system, CADD, Minitab).
- Proven ability to create, convert,
and modify drawings with AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base software.
- Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV Switchgear.
- 5+ years of proven experience in electronics circuit boards, electrical/electronic failure analysis, and electrical/electronic equipment problem-solving.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of assembly and configuration processes.
- Fully teamwork oriented.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and takes ownership and leadership.
- Able to prioritize and address critical issues first.
