Position Summary
We are searching for an Environmental leader like you to join our amazing team! The primary purpose of the Sr. Manager, Environmental is to facilitate implementation of corporate and business-unit level environmental management programs at all Latin America locations. This individual will administer and improve systems for collection, review and examination of data or information, which may be financial or operational, and process and prepare it for use for purposes of enhancing the management decision-making capabilities of the Environmental Affairs Department, including internal and external performance reporting. This position facilitates the identification and implementation of regulatory requirements, energy conservation, pollution prevention opportunities, and environmental best practices across the company. The candidate will also serve as a technical specialist and liaison to Bridgestone Latin Americas Business Units and facilities as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Act as single point of contact to Bridgestone Latin America organization leadership
- Working knowledge of environmental regulatory framework and ability to apply internationally
- Applied implementation and working experience with ISO14001:2015
- Monitor pending environmental legislation and assist facilities in understanding and complying with governmental and local environmental regulations
- Identify, track, and report on key performance Indicators relevant to environmental aspects and impacts to drive accountability and performance measurement
- Develop written programs, procedures and policies to ensure compliance to external regulations and internal global standards
- Provide technical support, oversight and improvement of environmental management systems
- Interpret data and provide recommendations to improve energy efficiency, recycling, waste disposal, water use and air pollution control
- Audit facilities and programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate standards
- Assist in strategic planning, procedure development, standardization, and program implementation
- Perform industry benchmarking analyses with regard to environmental aspects, programs, and performance
- Provide indirect management of Latin American environmental professionals and provide key input to performance reviews
Qualifications
- BS degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or related science preferred
- Experience in an Engineering or Scientific field implementing environmental activities to conserve natural resources; working in an environmental management system; or environmental regulatory compliance assurance
- Computer literacy and ability to manipulate and develop spreadsheets and help design or improve databases
- Ability to perform research work, make mathematical computations and provide comprehensive and innovative recommendations on environmental engineering issues
- Pollution prevention mindset with drive for process standardization and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of environmental engineering
- Strong organizational agility to enhance cross-functional communication and collaboration
- Ability to travel around 25% of the time
