.**SR. PLANNING LOGISTICS MANAGER****ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:- Leading and managing the production and master scheduling functions to ensure that:- Production schedules are established to support on time delivery to customer request dates to the maximum extent possible- The SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process is established and maintained regarding the implementation of the defined manufacturing build strategy for forecasted demand.- On time delivery to promise date is maintained according to goal- Work in process inventory levels are current and maintained at targeted investment levels (turns)- Leading and managing the logistics function to ensure that:- Inventory counts are accurate and reconcile to the GL via aggressive cycle count management- A LEAN "least transactions/least touches" approach is implemented to flow raw material from receiving to the production floor.- Reviews potential risk of excess and obsolescence and implements process driven countermeasures to ensure proactive and permanent resolution of issues identified.- Partners with Global Supply Chain to ensure that global commodity management capabilities are staffed at the plant level where it is deemed appropriate, thereby sharing commodity responsibility for both the plant and the overall Company.- Defines key processes and monitors their performance with weekly or monthly key performance indicators (KPI's), and implements countermeasure when process performance is below defined targets:- Procurement- Inventory Control- Production and Sales Order Scheduling- Excess and obsolescence- Inventory Investment/Turns- Supplier Performance (Quality/Delivery/Cost)- Forecasting revenue and ensuring targets are achieved weekly.- Engages in the NPI process assigning resources as required to NPI teams at gate 1 of the product life cycle to ensure:- Stated market lead-times are fully supported with a disciplined purchasing plan that defines critical components that require specialized lead-time management programs.- Raw materials cost targets are achieved- New supplier development requirements are identified and appropriately addressed- Part/Supplier qualifications are performed as necessary- The SIOP process is fully defined and implemented for the new product to define manufacturing strategy and sales forecasting responsibility.- Implements capacity management and productivity management processes to ensure that direct labor staffing plans are managed to achieve required delivery cost targets.- Highlights and drives cost reduction efforts through recommendations for part specification changes, alternative parts, alternative suppliers, supplier consolidation, or improved purchasing negotiation techniques.- Ensures that LEAN manufacturing scheduling and supply chain tools are deployed and followed with extreme rigor and discipline, ensuring that inventory investments (Raw/WIP/FG) are maintained at the minimum level required to support on time delivery goals
