.Job Profile SummaryThe Process Engineer is responsible for coaching and mentoring the engineering team.They are responsible for making high level recommendations on the overall process design and equipment needs. They suggest measures to improve product design for manufacturability. This includes the development of new equipment and process flows as well as developing cost estimates for labor and capital. They will also provide ongoing sustaining support/consultation to the manufacturing engineering teams at our global make sites.General Responsibilities- Subject matter expert and process engineer leader on A-List new product development global project teams- Lead cross functional teams- Advises on the development of synergies across multiple product lines- Represents the organization as the principal customer contact and generally performs in a program/project leadership role- Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational guidelines- Proactively identifies risk mitigation opportunities and process involvements- Defines manufacturing strategy for zero defect as well as defines the specifications for production equipment and interacts with mechanization (in house) and/or equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications- Check in with other departments on the status of process specifications, quality aspects, product specifications, and continuity of equipment- Influence product roadmap through process innovation- Leads the successful launch of new products- Leads advanced quality planning activities- Specifies functional requirements, reviewing designs, and debugging/qualifying new high volume assembly/test equipment or tooling- Transferring knowledge to make site personnel- Support improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects, and manufacturing costs- Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet our delivery requirements, and meet our cost target- Evaluate Sensata's and suppliers technical capabilities including tooling design, build experience, maintenance program, processes and process control, cell automation- if requires, quality control systems, and materials knowledgeExperience / Qualifications- A university degree required (i.E. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
