.Your New Role:Our Enterprise Data & Shared Services team is seeking a highly capable database administrator to support and maintain the daily activity of the database team related to data lakes, data warehouse, and databases. You will be administering and implementing standardized database management procedures for Snowflake and Databricks databases. To ensure success as a database administrator, you should possess extensive knowledge of database administration and experience in a similar role.You will be working with a team of professionals to design and implement the best database practices for Snowflake and Databricks databases, provide guidance to the database team on database structures and features. You will create standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of existing database architecture. Troubleshoot complex database issues in an accurate and timely manner. Develop best practices for performance and operational efficiency.This position offers adequate chances for personal and professional growth and development while working with a multitalented and supportive team.Your Role Accountabilities:Primarily responsible for administrating Snowflake and Databricks environments.Identify, tune, and fix the performance issues on priority.Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake and Databricks related errors and work with the team to raise support tickets, follow-ups, and help to resolve them.Implement security, roles, users, and privileges using the best practices.Provide database/objects recovery as needed on a case-by-case basis.Design, identify, and implement high performing and highly available data warehouse solutions.Create Snowflake/Databricks utilization and capacity/cost plans, identify, and provide solutions for abnormalities.Proactively identify, design, and implement process improvements like automating manual processes, optimizing data flow, and increasing scalability.Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices in Snowflake/Databricks administration.Follow existing database runbooks, create, and maintain new runbooks for new and improved processes.Provide 24X7 on-call support by participating in a rotation schedule.Qualifications & Experiences:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or information technology.5+ years of experience as a database administrator.Minimum 3 years of hands-on administration experience, from setting up the Databricks/Snowflake environments to successfully administering it (AWS preferred).Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy utilizing Unix shell scripting, Windows BAT, Python, etc.Some experience with AWS with knowledge of S3, EC2, IAM, Security, Lambda, Networking, etc.Ability and experience with the development of processes and procedures to standardize Database installations and configuration.Extensive experience with implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and High availability
