Sr Staff Buyer

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts.
They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required.
They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.
**What your background should look like**:**Activities**:- Manage high spend suppliers that are critical to the organization.- Lead and implement process improvement projects..- Work with Other key departments to resolve material shortages and help minimize Impact risks to Production.- Build and help maintain strong business relationships with suppliers.- To actively participate as a team member within the materials team and establish a sound working knowledge of all functions (i.E.
procurement, inventory management & vendor management).- Effectively manage the vendor relationships in terms of supply, quality, vendor returns (credits), pricing and terms of trade- Create and manage SAP forecasts**Requirements**:- +5 years of experience on a similar positions- Advanced excel skills- Knowledge of APICS certification (desirable)- Knowledge of supply chain roles- Advanced English**Competencies**:- Values: Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation
