.Job DescriptionIf you have experience working with Mexican VAT (IVA) and you are looking to make your next career move,This is an exciting opportunity to support the LEGO Group Tax VAT as you join a growing business in an international department with colleagues spread all over the world.Core ResponsibilitiesSupport the complete VAT refund process through:Oversee and manage the entire VAT refund process, ensuring timely and accurate refunds.Ensure compliance with Mexican VAT laws and regulations and prepare detailed reports for internal and external partners.Have proper interactions with our firms and Tax authorities to make refunds happen.Collaborate with process and data specialists to facilitate the improvement of our data gathering to speed up our VAT refunds.Assist in VAT audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to tax authorities.Analyze VAT data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvements.Liaise with internal departments, external consultants, and tax authorities to resolve VAT-related issues or discrepancies.Data reporting through SAP/BI reports or seeking support for other automation tools such as RPA or advanced analytics.Ensure proper documentation practices are followed and supporting files are "audit ready."Provide training and guidance to staff on VAT refund processes and compliance to take advantage of lessons learned.Play your part in our team succeedingThe Accounting Services organization consists of the Tax Operations & Compliance (ToC) team and General Ledger (GL) teams operating within the LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO). Within BSO, the ToC team is responsible for meeting the global tax and statutory compliance requirements and the GL team is responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of the consolidation reports. The department balances a mix of internal resources and third parties to efficiently meet global compliance requirements. The department focuses on transparent and accurate status reporting, maintaining a strong internal control framework, demonstrating technology and standard processes to meet its operational targets and satisfy partners.The role will require a self-starter mentality and a progressive drive to bring in continuously improved processes into the ToC department. The performance is determined not only on the stated objectives but on the collaboration and service management provided to partners. Also, the role is encouraged to bring innovative ideas and challenge existing practices to meet partner needs.Do you have what it takes?Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, CPA.Accounting / Tax Certifications.Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in VAT refund processing, with a strong understanding of Mexican VAT laws.Proven track record in handling high volumes of VAT refunds.Use tax expertise to recommend improvements to our current processes via equipped end-to-end thinking and lean concepts
