**Subdirector Public Affairs****Role Purpose. **To help the Group and HSBC Mexico achieve its strategic priorities by: Providing a nearly view of political and regulatory developments that may help or hinder the Group execute its Strategic Priorities**Main activities**:- Together with internal stakeholders, coordinate a holistic engagement with ABM, CCE, CEEG, AMCHAM, BritCham, UK Embassy, Canadian and Chinese Chambers and others.- Monthly meetings with HSBC members of ABM Committees- Establish CEO leadership and other Exco members and key forums to support HBMX to support Group and HBMX's strategy.- Provide guidance on the effective implementation of public affairs governance in the country.- Work collaboratively with global Public Relations colleagues.- Work closely with External Communications and News in the country to ensure consistency between stories told internally and externally.- Actively support, coach and develop Public relations talent in countryRequirements**Functional Knowledge**- Sufficient seniority and credibility to represent HSBC with key local public affair events senior levels.- Strong presentation skills with understanding of board level requirements.- Broad knowledge of Public Affairs trends and best practice.- Broad knowledge of the financial service industry and global markeplace.- Role model management skills and behaviours.- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and pressurised situations.- Proven crisis management skills.- Role holder will report to the Head of Communications for México.- Role holder will work closely with Global Business communications teams.- Detailed knowledge of the HSBC Group and its values and culture.- Expected to act with high degree of autonomy- Role holder will be comfortable working for a large, complex international organisation, with stakeholder contact being required at country, regional and global levels.- The day-to-day delivery of the role will require the role holder to establish and maintain strong relationships both inside and outside the function.- HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and where their opinions count.
