Purpose
The Mine Services Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of road maintenance, electrical shovels cable handling, dust control and wall cleaning and scaling.
**Responsibilities**:
Support development of SOPs (Standard Operations Procedures) to ensure work is carried across 3 groups, 24x7 in a consistent manner following best industry practices
Ensure the Fatality risk management standards are well implement across all working groups.
Ensure cost control is well managed in the department.
Support the operations to reach department objectives.
Provide coaching and development support to the supervisors team.
Foster good communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
Liaise with mine planning, mine maintenance and S group to cross collaborate.
Collaborate with Full Potential, Operate for Reliability ,OSNs (Operational Support Network), IT and other sites to support corporate strategies. Also maintain healthy relationships withOEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) providing site support.
Identify, scope and execute improvement initiatives to enhance performance.
Foster supervisors - Operators 1 on 1 interviews.
Promote innovation, review new products and technologies to support work execution in the most efficient way
Support for professional development activities, to foster a positive workplace that reflects Newmont values and the development of high performing teams
**Requirements**:
Proficiency in Microsoft office
Accident / Incident Investigation expertise
Excellent Administration and Management skills
Excellent organizational, communication, report writing and safety management skills
Ability to work closely with relevant departmental to ensure that all mine services needs are met
Ability to work in a team and have a good safety culture
Must be able to meet targets and deadlines
Ability to supervise and direct others
Must be detail oriented and independent
Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity and creativity
Capability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships
Must be able to speak, write and read English
Training& Experience
A minimum of 7-10 years of validated experience in surface mining.
Engineering Degree in Mining
