.Position Title: Supplier Quality Engineer Reports to: Global Supplier Quality Manager Work Location: Saltillo, MexicoWe have an exciting opportunity at Holland, MI location for a hands-on problem solver who is excited about taking Motus quality to the NEXT level. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading production resolutions documentation and communication to the supplier and all Motus manufacturing facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedule, perform, report results and follow action plans for supplier audits, process reviews, run-at-rates and other appropriate system evaluations as requiredEnsure Supplier compliance to Motus quality system requirementsImplement assigned activities to achieve supplier quality goals and objectives in support of the Motus global objectiveFoster an atmosphere for a proactive continuous improvement culture with the supply baseWork collaboratively with internal/external teamsSupplier Quality Operating System results and reportingReport monthly QOS as assignedEnsure monthly supplier scorecards are completed and sent to assigned supply deckEnsure actions plans are established and followed for high impact suppliersFocus Supplier ProgramLead assigned suppliers through the Focus Supplier ProgramPerform regularly scheduled supplier site visits and assist suppliers with systemic issue resolutionLead supplier problem solving initiative from containment phase to close out of 8D reportMentor suppliers to adopt best practicesCandidate must be able to travel extensively and on short notice as necessaryAbility to work independentlyStrong organizational skills requiredAbility to understand, address and resolve complex problemsPromote the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement techniques to reduce variability and achieve process controlDevelop positive relationships and effective lines of communication to foster partnerships with suppliers REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor degree in Engineering or related3+ years of related Quality Engineering experience in a supplier quality functionCQE or equivalent certification preferredExperience with APQP, PPAP, VDA and other customer specific requirements as necessaryExperience in implementation of various problem-solving methodologies and processesSix Sigma certification preferredDemonstrated effectiveness in supply quality metricsManufacturing engineering / production / quality experience preferred KEY COMPETENCIES Intellectual Competencies:Intellectual – Ability to acquire understanding and absorb information rapidly.
