Vehicle Structural System CAE Engineer: The engineer in this position will provide technical and engineering support in the area of vehicle durability, strength and structural optimization through the use of CAE tools and collaboration with design teams to develop efficient systems for body structures, frame, and battery tray systems. The engineer will be primarily focused on the use of NASTRAN and ABACUS for structural analysis and Optistruct for optimization and fatigue analysis tools such as FDYNAM, Automata, or NCODE and Hypermesh / Hyper Works for pre and post processing.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.- Prefer a Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or higher degree in a similar discipline.- 5+ years of CAE durability analysis experience in automotive industry or equivalent- Experience in complete vehicle development projects in automotive body structures or frame durability.- Highly skilled in "hands-on" CAE model development using HyperMesh.- Strong knowledge in automotive structure- Expert in linear/non-linear FE solvers Nastran and ABAQUS. Knowledge of LS-Dyna is added advantage.- Practical experience in fatigue calculation tools such as FDYNAM or Automata- Strong understanding on the solid mechanics and materials.- Structural Optimization experience in Topology/Size/Shape optimization using Optistruct.- Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis results within a tight schedule in a collaborative team environment.- High attention to detail- Creative mindset with the ability to create practical work-around solutions when necessary- Open-minded with a desire and aptitude to work in a team environment with individuals having diverse backgrounds and experience- Strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence and data-driven decision making.- Self-driven with a concentration on execution. Likes to be accountable for their own work- Communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner so that technical details and main points are fully understood by the audience.**Responsibilities**:- Utilize CAE techniques with components and sub-system to assess performance in Durability, Stiffness and Strength attributes for body structures, frame, and battery tray systems.- Utilize optimization methods to minimize mass and cost while achieving system level targets for body structures, frame, and battery tray systems.- Collaborate with the design engineering team to develop alternative design proposals to improve the design efficiency and/or address structural deficiencies.- Modify model content to assess design alternatives.- Post process analysis results and make design recommendation to multi-disciplinary teams
