Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts withexisting relationships.**Detailed Description**:Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:- Provides the necessary engineering support and coordination of prototype build to ensure that new assemblies are completed on time and on budget.- Provides feedback to appropriate engineering and support groups to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.- Reviews and interprets customer specifications.- Provides engineering expertise for all technical issues related to the customers product(s) from product conception to product obsolescence.- Works closely with customer on the design of new products.- Gathers, understands and converts customer data into usable manufacturing information.- Verifies that specifications conform to customer, industry and company standards.- Assists in selecting and programming manufacturing equipment to build product.- Assists manufacturing with the first run of product.- Develops specialized tools to automate and ease assembly/test development.- Develops and executes assembly/test strategy for new products including DFx analysis and feedback.- Supports the transition of customers products to manufacturing and participates with peers to ensure successful handoffs.**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:- Engineering Foundation Competencies- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related company products
