**Job Description**:
**Team**:System Engineering team within the Powertrain Solutions division
The powertrain simulation engineer works within the system engineering group to derive requirements for current and future powertrain components and subsystems, and to support the component engineering groups in detailed analysis of the component behavior under realistic engine, power unit vehicle and driving scenarios.
Manage and follow up activities for development of new projects, as well as past and ongoing projects, in order to accomplish internal and external customer requirements, according to specifications.
**Responsibilities**:
- Carry out 1D models and simulations for different powertrain components and systems, according to design specifications, cost and timeline
- Evaluate powertrain components specifications to accomplish internal and customer design requirements
- Do technical presentations for internal and external customers
- Keep up to date about new tools and technologies for powertrain modeling and simulations
- Promote safety health and environment protection according to IS0 14001/OHSAS 18001.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:
- Related Engineering degree required (Master desirable), e.g.
Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, etc.
- Language: Advanced (technical) English (written and oral)
- Communication and presentation skills (advanced, in English)
- Experience with powertrain simulation tools (e.g.
GT-suite, Dymola)
- Experience with Matlab / Simulink (advanced)
- Deep knowledge of powertrain systems
- Experience with version control tools (e.g.
Git)
- Large data handling and analysis (e.g.
SQL, Python, etc.)
- Post-processing driving data (e.g.
statistics (max/min/avg) values, histograms, etc.)
- Knowledge of vehicle testing procedures and certification drive cycles (for US or EU)
- Electrical machine knowledge (e.g.
types, functional principles, modeling)
- Fuel cell knowledge (e.g.
fuel cell principles, modeling)
- Internal combustion engines (e.g.
basic principles, types, modeling, mapping, controls)
**Desired**:
- Programming skills (e.g.
Python)
- Language: German (desirable)
- Knowledge of emissions legislations (for US or EU markets, including EPA credit banking system)
- Sizing of electrical powertrain components (i.e.
battery, electrical machine)
