**OVERVIEW**:**POSITION RESPONSABILITIES**:- Manage all aspects of purchasing for a fast-paced manufacturing plant.- Negotiate and execute expedites, pull ins and recommits with vendors as required (escalate to top Management if necessary) according to production plans and company strategies.- Execute corporate and strategic plans to meet goals including Inventory levels, cost reduction, VMI/stocking agreements, supplier consolidation, alternative vendor development, on-time delivery performance, and excess and obsolete reduction.- Continuously drive inventory reduction through developing and executing plans for lead time, and minimum buy reduction.- Aggressively reduce costs and improve flexible delivery systems- Develop and execute plans for cost reduction.- Eliminate material shortages and customer line downs due lack of materials.- Maximize People-Soft system utilization.- Develop improved purchasing systems and controls.- Work as a true team player, willing to perform tasks outside of the day-to-day operations environment.- Supervise, develop, and provide leadership to buyers and other materials team members.- Maintain and continually improve the quality management system in the areas assigned with a "risk management" approach.- Assure compliance to company procedures, policies, and most current revision of ISO 9001 standard.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:- Bachelor's degree, preferably in operations management, business, or engineering.- Experience dealing with low-cost countries and domestic suppliers.- 5-7 years purchasing experience.- Minimum 5 years supervisory and negotiations experience in purchasing or materials.- Proven leadership with continuous improvement approach and strong interpersonal communication skills.- APICS/ISM certification.- Strong experience in negotiations with suppliers resulting in successful cost reductions, lead-time, package size, and payment terms improvement.- A proven track record of cost savings, inventory reduction, and implementation of modern purchasing approaches (including JIT, Kanban, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Lean Manufacturing).- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.- Capable of future career advancement to a Materials Manager position.**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:- An advanced degree in business, engineering, science, or mathematics.- Previous experience as a material or purchasing Manager.- 10+ years purchasing and/or materials leadership.- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or other similar MRP systems.- Previous experience in a seasonal manufacturing environment.Tipo de puesto: Tiempo completoSueldo: $1.00 - $2.00 al mesHorario:- Lunes a viernesEducación:- Licenciatura terminada (Deseable)Experiência:- purchasing: 5 años (Obligatorio)Idioma:- Ingles (Obligatorio)
