Responsibilities:Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications.Analyze and understand product HW design documents such as block-diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, logic and timing diagrams, etc.Analyze and understand product SW design documents such as block diagrams, SW architecture and topology diagrams, timing and sequence diagrams, use-case charts, and detailed component specifications.Understand vehicle systems and designs and how the Head Unit interacts with other Electronic Control Units in the vehicle.Focus on system performance and optimizations throughout test and development cycles.Coordinate with System Test teams to ensure design and requirements are verified and validated.Lead Root Cause / Corrective Action process with product teams for issues that arise during development and test.Interface with Customer to be a key technical presence for project teams.Use hardware instruments for troubleshooting including oscilloscope, programmable power meter, logic analyzer, etc.Serve as knowledge center for teams on how to perform hardware centric tasks such as re-flashing, board-bring-up, and hardware modifications as needed.Facilitate knowledge management using tools such as confluence-wiki, and Jira.Communicate with peers inside client team to coordinate product development. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups.Manage small projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating and follow through.Minimum Requirements:Working knowledge of software development processes.Working knowledge of embedded systems.Working knowledge of automotive infotainment systems and features.Strong Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) experience and training.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.5+ years of system engineering experience.2-4+ years of embedded systems experience.Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment.Working knowledge of Embedded Linux and/or Android OS.Working knowledge of audio/video codecs and processing routines.Working knowledge of navigation systems and concepts such as GPS, dead-reckoning, etc.Working knowledge of User Device connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi-direct, NFC, etc.Working knowledge of Vector-CAN architecture and layering.Working knowledge of thermal/mechanical/EMC/reliability design concerns and test considerations.Strong attention to detail.Ability to refocus and reprioritize tasks to meet the demands of the product development cycle.Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing complex software defects.Strong project management and time management skills.
