Scientific Drilling is looking for an Accountant to work at our Cd. del Carmen or Villahermosa, Mexico location. We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesTransition from third party accounting/tax service for local books and records by implementing a local accounting software package.Maintain dual records for local reporting and SAP for group reporting. Reconcile between the two.Transition from third party payroll service by implementing a local payroll software package.Process monthly payrolls, enter bank payments, prepare payroll journals, including taxes and social security.Fulfil monthly reporting requirements for the Divisional accounts department to strict deadlines as determined by Corporate, including accounts revenue report, borrowed personnel and financial statement review.Prepare sales invoices to be sent to customers in line with in-Country mandatory invoicing requirements, ensuring all appropriate back-up documentation is provided.Check purchase invoices, petty cash and district expense reports, ensuring all appropriate approvals have been obtained.Code income and expenditure as per chart of accounts for the District.Process sales, purchases, bank statements and journals through Local and SAP for the District.Enter bank payments for review / approval.Ensure revenue and costs are booked on an accruals basis, preparing accruals where necessary at period end.Perform scheduled reconciliation of balance sheet items including monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.Monitor aged debtors, follow up all overdue invoices and report the status of overdue invoices as requiredReview and settle intercompany balancesAdminister local tax reporting requirements for VAT, WHT, payroll and corporate income taxes and Customs duties.Attend weekly meetings with District Manager to assist with preparation of monthly sales reporting and budgets.Investigate any queries/discrepancies advised by District Manager and Division.Discuss ongoing jobs with Measurements Coordinator to assist with financial planning of the departments.Assist in the Annual Audit process.Perform other relevant duties as requested/required by senior management.Education, Experience, Certification and TrainingEducated to university level or above in relevant discipline, or relevant accounting experienceFluent English in oral and written is advantageousFluent in Spanish in oral and written is advantageous#J-18808-Ljbffr
