Role Summary Do you have an interest in learning about and supporting complex financial structures related to renewable energy project development? We are seeking an Accountant to play a key role in performing timely and accurate invoicing, payments, ledgers, and payables for the organization and its project entities. You are a self-starter with attention to detail, as well as understanding and responding to the needs of a growing entrepreneurial business. The Accountant collaborates in a team setting, working across departments and closely with the VP of Finance and Director of Accounting, and maintains strict confidentiality.
Responsibilities Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Management:
Own the accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle from receipt of invoices to payment, including coding and entering invoices and bills in the accounting system. Process employee expense reports, including verifications of receipts and coding. Deposit customer checks and process payments in propriety billing software. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Responsible for monthly journal entries and reconciliations related to Balance Sheet accounts. Ensure all accounting policies and procedures related to duties are adhered to, including travel and related expenses, vendor approval, and invoice processing. Manage IRS 1099 compliance and certain monthly/quarterly investor reporting. Vendor Relations and Process Improvement:
Manage vendor relations and build effective partnerships. Partner closely with the Finance team to identify and implement process improvements. Audit Support and Ad Hoc Projects:
Assist the team with gathering support for all audits and lender diligence, including pulling documentation. Assist in ad hoc projects as needed.
Experience and Skills Required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business with some accounting course work
Location Durango. CO or San Luis Obispo, CA
