The primary function is to perform general accounting/bookkeeping activities which consist of account reconciliations, posting of journal entries, reporting & analysis, and special projects.
**Responsabilities & Duties**
- Perform monthly and year end closing process for the company which consists of account
- Maintain & prepare schedules tracking various costs, projects to support monthly journal entries and ensure accurate account balances each month
- Drive and support continuous improvement by supporting management initiatives and developing & documenting new processes
- Review processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency/accuracy and implement solutions
- Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- Prepare monthly loan draw request for multiple construction projects and monitor job costs projects
- Review and process subcontract and consultant payment requests
- Performing day-to-day accounting functions such as month end close, variance analysis, financial reporting, AP, AR, and billing
- Monitor job progress and any potential overruns against purchase orders or budgets
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years accounting or finance experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Strong ability to collect information from many varied sources and ensure its accuracy
- Ability to work independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong ability to understand business processes
- Strong initiative and willingness to take on projects in a proactive manner
- Flexibility
- Ability to manage constantly shifting priorities and requirements
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills & Effective listening skills
- Lead activities with support/service groups outside the project team to ensure successful project results
- Leverage personal expertise to develop and present rational conclusions, recommendations and direct implementation strategies/action plans
